Ingrid Wilson (aka IIMWII), is a Sydney based artist, whose artworks explore abstracted figures. These figures are usually created through typography. She often tends to find herself painting her artist name or a term that resonates with her strongly at the time. Having completed a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts (Visual Arts), Ingrid currently resides in her Bondi apartment, working in an Architect firm during the day to maintain it, however being a full time artist is still the real dream.
Her inspiration is stemmed from observing social interactions and communication from people in her everyday life to other artists she has studied. A self confessed enthusiast to change, Ingrid often finds herself moving houses quite regularly. As she states, “I think my addiction [to change] is really interesting in terms of watching my practice evolve.” Her practice has been evolving for over twelve years. She has found that throughout her practice, there has always been a strong connection to abreacting a form that is beyond recognition, whether it is through digital installations, sculpture oils or acrylics, however admits that she places no limitations on what she uses to create.
Ingrid intends to further pursue her study by completing her Masters in Fine Art within the future as well as potentially collaborating with other artists to create a huge immersive installation that focuses upon an underwater theme – echoing the versatility and limitless nature of her artwork.
