Sydney-based painter Sara Roberts describes her work as both sublime and uneasy. She has lived in many places, Australia, Mexico, France, Sweden and Poland and takes inspiration from these varied landscapes. She creates works which are both nostalgic and Utopian with a touch of the supernatural.
Her current series is about experimentation, using paint as a medium in an abstract sense to take the viewer on an imaginative journey. These paintings are not set in any time or sequential order but rather exist as suspended, dreamy moments. The artist begs us to acknowledge the beauty of our own transience in time.
Sara has attained a Bachelor of Visual Arts (honours) from Sydney College of the Arts.
Sara was also recently a finalist for the STAEDTLER Yen Female Art Awards! Well done Sara!
