Britt Dunbar is an award winning West Australian artist who focuses on creating abstract and figurative landscaoes that reflect her personality and surrounds.
Painting landscapes and representational images has been Britt’s first and foremost subject however as her art practice has evolved her love of abstraction and contemporary art has intensified. By approaching the landscape as a subject, she considers memory and moments in time as an expansive intuition. Living in regional and remote areas she sees vibrant colours that come across in her work that bring a transient experience into view. The paintings, often over two metres in size bring about a sense of wander and let the audience determine their own meaning or narrative.
After exhibiting in Sydney in 2015 Britt took up various private tutelage from some of Australia’s best contemporary artists. This year she has transformed her art using even bolder colours and compositions than before. She has steadily been developing a style that expresses gesture and expressionism.
She has exhibited locally and interstate with sell out shows.
