Karynne Ledger is a multi-talented artist using her skills as an Illustrator, chef and educator to make the world a more creative place.
She began her visual arts studies at East Sydney Technical College and the Sydney College of the Arts majoring in printmaking and illustration. Along with her passion for art, she has equally dedicated her time to her passion for food and has recently completed a Masters at the University of Gastronomic Sciences in Italy. Karynne leads the Slow Food movement in Sydney that helps to encourage community involvement with food practices and creates networks between local foodies. 'Being the Slow Food Sydney leader, has allowed me to express my passion for art, sustainable food and combine them.'
Her artworks are inspired by nature, mythology and Scandinavian design. From pencil to watercolour and digital mediums; she continues to experiment with traditional and new materials within her work. 'To take the work and transpose it to the digital area is interesting as working in the digital medium means being able manipulate the illustration and take it down many paths to see which works the best for the idea.'
Karynne Ledger is an emerging Sydney based artist. She loves collaborating with other artists/designers and hopes to create an educational book about food or nature some day.
