Through the process of ‘collaging’ my exploratory drawings, I am able to construct a visual representation of how it feels to be in the landscape. I use all my sensory abilities and memory of what defines the landscape for me - in the case of Hill End it is a sense that the hills have been stripped away and plundered for their gold. What is left is a somewhat desolate landscape that is slowly regenerating now that the gold rush is over. This drawing is an attempt to describe that that which is above the ground is as important as that which is below the ground.
